
The book ‘Socialscape of Man and Environment’ is a collection of scholarly articles on the eternal relation of Man and their environment. Here Socialscape is the flow of this relation, the growth of economy and culture of Man and the result of all these. These aspects has been depicted in the book from different perspectives. The cases and examples from local and micro scale to broader areas made this book truly an integrated approach across the disciplines. The book has been patterned into three subthemes – Nature, Culture, Sustainability, Geophilosophy and Advocating Sustainability. The first part is arranged with the articles related to man and nature synergy at various scales. The second part dealt with a new approach to the study of nature and landscape with theoretical, literary and philosophical viewpoints. The third part adds a grace to the book to be a bilingual volume as Hindi articles are included in this part. The initiative, the book is the environmentalism, the practice of advocating the environmental protection, conservation and awareness of several age grouped authors, various disciplines and a number of situations and observations of them, drawn with pen and paper, data and diagram and valued photographs. The book is a collective effort of the authors, the publishing team and the one and all who has extended their support to make the venture actualize.

| About the Authors | Satarupa Roy is working as Assistant Professor in Geography in Kulti College from 2017. She did B.Sc. Honours in Geography from Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, Kolkata and Masters' from the Department of Geography, Banaras Hindu University and awarded Ph.D. degree from the University of Calcutta in 2013 on Solid Waste Management of Kolkata Municipal Corporation area. Research interest in urban socio-environmental issues has been sown since research days. Her sphere of study includes Urban Geography, Cultural Geography, Migration Demographics and Geography of Tourism. |
