Rural Human Resource Development

Human Resource Development is the ultimate goal of National Development. HRD is the process of increasing knowledge, skills, and capacities of all the people in a society. Selection of the topic has been prompted by the fact that few geographers in India have carried out some works especially and exclusively in the line and format the author would work. Thus, Human Resource Development has been an issue of growing concern to geographers. Human Resource Development is generally taken into account as a logical starting point for the analysis of growth and modernization. This is perhaps the least developed area of knowledge in the field of geography of developmental studies. Ministry of Human resource Development and Rural Development, Government of India have also given much emphasis on HRD especially rural human resources along with the development of required infrastructures in rural areas. This area, therefore, may serve as the representative of human resource situation at the state and national level. Development of rural human resources has also been considered as one of the focal themes of the study.The present study consists of five chapters. Chapter-1 deals with the Introduction, in which definition, concepts and classification of HRD, importance of HRD; Space-Time Relationship, HRD, Human Welfare, Wellbeing and Quality of Life and determinants of HRD are highlighted. Chapter-2 concentrates on Approach to the Study including Methodology, Concepts of Classification of HRD Indicators for finding out the HRD Index. Chapter-3 focuses on Geographical Aspects of the Study Area comprising detail study of physical and human aspects. Chapter-4 sheds light on Spatial Pattern and Temporal Growth of HRD involving secondary data of 2001 and 2011. Chapter-5 demonstrates the Pattern of Human Resource Development involving only primary data relating to Education, Training, Skill, Health, Food and Nutrition, Disease, Income etc. collected by the investigator from the field. Lastly the study presents the Conclusions and Suggestions for further HRD.
