The society takes an attempt the review the nomenclature of the discipline. In the true sense of the term, the shape of the earth is geoidal as has been proved by recent scientific inventions through remote sensing. Round shaped earth or Bhugol was proclaimed at that very time when the then scholars, scientists, geographers were acquainted with the round shape of the earth hence round earth or Bhugol was claimed as the nomenclature of this discipline but present scientists, geographers are well acquainted with the shape of the earth hence its nomenclature is required to rename as the ‘Earth Surface Science’. This is the ideology of the society ‘Earth Science Review Society (ESRS) and the research journal entitled ‘Dimensions of Geography’. The editor strongly advocated this idea through his research journal and research society named ‘Earth Science Review Society (ESRS). |
