Changing Socio Economic Conditions of Scheduled Caste Migrant & Non-Migrant families

This book has been written bringing slight changes based on suggestions from eminent scholars of social sciences in the Doctoral thesis entitled "Socio- Economic Conditions of Scheduled caste Migrant & Non-Migrant Families in Vaishali District: A Geographical Study", submitted in Magadh University. The book highlights remarkable changes which have taken place in social and economic conditions of Migrant and non-migrant families of Vaishali district with special reference to scheduled caste community. It contains in depth analysis of physical, economic, social and other conditions responsible for their mobility. The book also discusses the struggle and efforts of scheduled caste people who out-migrate to different destinations and lead a strenuous life to maximize saving as well as remittances. Their remittances in turn are utilized by the dependents residing at their places of origin for improving their housing conditions, living style, providing better education, food and health facilities and to solve other family problems caused due to extreme poverty. It is expected that this book will enable the scholars of various disciplines like Geography, Sociology, Economics, Demography, Planning, etc to know about this downtrodden community and the contemporary transformations which are taking place uninterruptedly.
